Lord Jesus, today we bring to You our wounds. O God who healed the sick, have mercy on us all. May Your love that surpasses all human understanding fill us, cleanse us and strengthen us. Remove from each one of us any deep inner wounds which we got right from the time we were conceived, up to today. We pray that we can forgive and forget completely by Your grace. Help heal the ones we have wounded too. Amen.
Lord Jesus, we bring to Your Cross those who are judged the harshest by each one of us, the Pharisees of today. The teen with the tattoo, the intruding relative, the sulky colleague, the temperamental boss, the whining elder, the insensitive partner, the friend who wounded, the alcoholic neighbour, the gossipy stranger and many more faces we meet daily. May we see them all as You see them, holy and perfect creations in an imperfect world. Let us not judge, lest we be judged by You. Forgive and heal us, each time before we even think of lifting our fingers...
Lord Jesus, today we bring to You every person who lost his/her childhood. Lord, abusive or fighting parents, strife, anger and critical spirit within the family, high expectations at school, poverty, abuse and lack of support has destroyed our childhood dreams for many of us. We pray a prayer of forgiveness for our parents, grandparents, siblings, uncles, aunts, cousins and ourselves. We believe that the power of Christ can return everything satan has stolen and we claim that for everyone concerned. Lord Jesus, we surrender to You those of us who are brokenhearted right now. Grief, rejection, insults, illness, loneliness, death, ill-treatment, abuse, crisis, lack of spiritual nurturing – all these have left us broken and bruised. Only You can heal and repair our crushed spirits now, Jesus. Lord, help us understand that broken people break others. Help us forgive the ones who break us and let us cut this chain reaction of pain. We pray that Your Spirit will touch us and make us whole. Let our lives become testimonies of Your love all over again. Amen.
Lord Jesus, today we pray for those who feel lost and empty. On that Holy Saturday after Your death, the ones who loved You would have felt lost, alone and empty. They would have struggled to understand the situation. We pray for all those who, on this day, feel lost and empty in life and are unable to understand their broken situations. Be with them this day and comfort them as You lead them on to the resurrection experience. Amen.
