God will crush Satan under your feet…

Paul’s encouragement in today’s Scripture verse is simply that it is God who will crush every enemy under your feet. It isn’t your own power that will accomplish this, but your heavenly Dad’s! He has a father’s heart for you and promises to fight on your behalf! Exodus 14:14 says… “Yahweh will fight for you, and you shall be still.” (WEB)

I can remember a season in my life where I struggled with fear. No matter how much I rebuked the enemy, the fear would relentlessly pound on every fiber of my soul. One day I was talking to my dear wife about my struggles and she slapped me on the chest and said these words… “Leave that little boy alone!”

As soon as she did that, I saw a picture of me being a little boy on a playground and fear (which was represented by a 300 lb angry man) was yelling and screaming at me! I was paralyzed by the fear and helpless to fight back. During this vision, I saw my heavenly Father walk onto the playground. I felt His fatherly rage against the fear that was tormenting His little boy.

When fear saw my Dad, it was absolutely terrified and was vanquished immediately. At that moment, I was completely free from the fear that for months before had plagued me. I can honestly say that the God of peace crushed Satan under my feet that day. I didn’t do it…My Dad did!

My prayer today is that we would all see that it is our God and Father who promises to save us, rescue us and deliver us. May we rest in His big, strong arms and be comforted in knowing that if God is for us, who can possibly be against us? (Romans 8:31)

Romans 8:29-34
29 For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 Whom he predestined, those he also called. Whom he called, those he also justified. Whom he justified, those he also glorified. 31 What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things? 33 Who could bring a charge against God’s chosen ones? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. (WEB)
