Grace Time

Once, a little girl met with an accident. She was taken to the hospital where they said her leg has to be operated immediately. Since the little girl was allergic to any of the drug insensitive to pain, the doctors said if the girl would bear the pain they could carry out the operation otherwise she would die. While the parents were in dilemma, the girl told her father, “Dad if you stay beside me and look at my eyes while the operation is done I would be able to bear the pain. But if you turn your eyes from me I would not be able to bear the pain and would die” The father promised her little daughter that he would not turn is face but look at her. The doctors started to operate her leg. While the bones were being cut, the father was able to see the pain in the child’s face. He could not see his child with pain, so he just turned his sight from her for a second. Just then the child was not able to bear the pain. She screamed “Daddy why did you turn your face from me and died.”

My dear friends, when god is with us, we are safe but if he hides his face from us, we will be shattered. Psalm 30:7.Though we do all kinds of wrong things “It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.” Lamentations 3:22.  As the father was not able to see the pain on the child’s face, our heavenly father will not be able to see us sinning or suffering. When we are secure and filled with prosperity we might say that we will never be shaken and will be happy always. Psalm 30:6, 10:6. But remember that our Lord is merciful and gracious, slows to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin, Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation. Let us turn our wicked ways. Let us repent and surrender. Because our lord says “In an outburst of anger I hid My face from you for a moment, But with everlasting loving kindness I will have compassion on you,” Says the LORD your Redeemer. Isaiah 54:7
