Today, we pray for animals, birds and other living things

Lord Jesus, on this day we pray for animals, birds and all other living things that You created to give us pleasure. We pray that these are protected and not abused. Forgive us Lord for the way we have hurt the living things around the world. Forgive us for the cutting down of trees, the carnage of wild life, the abuse of animals and birds and the poisoning of aquatic life. A special prayer for our pets, who bring us great joy and for our dear ones like our children and the elderly – who have lost their pets. May us human beings learn to respect and love life – any creature that You created. Amen.
